Endocuff Vision Raises Adenoma Detection Rate by 7% in Randomized Controlled Trial in FIT-Positive Patients
Douglas K. Rex, MD, MASGE, reviewing Zorzi M, et al. Endoscopy 2021 Feb 1.
Recent analyses suggest that colonoscopy with the original Endocuff or newer Endocuff Vision (EV) is superior to standard colonoscopy but that Endocuff has a greater impact than EV. However, the devices have not been compared head-to-head, and currently, only the EV is available. In a randomized controlled trial (RCT) from Italy involving 1813 patients randomized 1:1 to colonoscopy with EV versus standard colonoscopy as the control, the ADR was higher with EV (47.8% vs 40.8%), including a 15% gain among physicians with ADR <33.3%. EV could not pass in only 3% of patients.
