Being committed endoscopists, we are all concerned that even minor invasive procedures may result in a “complication”. The evolving advances in gastrointestinal endoscopy (both diagnostic and therapeutic), as well as in surgical concepts, require a process of reflection and introspection.
As in prior years, the aims of this symposium are to
identify critical incidents and complications
communicate unforeseen events
develop strategies to avoid or minimize complications
discuss the technical, procedural, ethical, psychological and legal aspects of a complication.
