German Society for Endoscopy and Imaging Techniques

Practice and innovation in endoscopy

The DGE-BV is a forum for exchange between clinicians and researchers, research institutes, industry and the professional societies with their occupational groups.

The aims of the DGE-BV

A bridge between practice, research and industry

Founded in 1967 by Ludwig Demling and realigned along interdisciplinary lines by Paul Hermanek in 1985, the DGE-BV is unique in its scientific and practical orientation.

  1. Interdisciplinary training and education

Representing endoscopic techniques and imaging procedures together with the related clinical disciplines.

  2. Advancing technological progress

Actively driving innovation in medicine and endoscopy — from new procedures to widespread adoption.

  3. The next generation of researchers

Offering early-career researchers a practice-oriented forum to present their projects and establish themselves.

  4. Standards and representation

Distinctive standards and certifications, plus liaison with authorities and the statutory health insurance associations.

Young endoscopists

A platform for the next generation

We are the working group within the DGE-BV — innovative, enthusiastic and (still) young. The next generation and the future of endoscopy.

We offer early-career endoscopists a platform of their own for scientific and educational exchange — open to members and anyone interested from all disciplines that work endoscopically: surgery, gastroenterology, pulmonology, urology, gynaecology and ENT. Together with a training programme tailored to us, we prepare for the future of endoscopy.
