In a cross-sectional retrospective study at a single U.S. health care system, colonoscopic findings of 150 randomly selected patients with early-onset colorectal cancer (CRC) were compared with those of 150 patients with average-onset CRC, matched based on sex and colonoscopic indication. The median age of the patients with early-onset CRC was 43 years, and for patients with average-onset CRC, it was 67 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among patients with rectal cancer, the prevalence of synchronous advanced adenomas was the same in the two groups (15% and 19%).
