They also discovered that 7.8% of patients had advanced polyps and 0.2% had colorectal cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among patients with no polyps or only small hyperplastic polyps, the investigators found that surveillance colonoscopy was recommended for 58.1% of those with a life expectancy of less than 5 years, 74.8% of those with a life expectancy of 5 to 9 years, and 95.2% with a life expectancy of at least 10 years.
